Committees

Resource Development Committee

  • Directs the general development activities of the foundation while ensuring that all board members are actively participating in raising funds and friends for the organization
  • In coordination with the Executive Director, develops fundraising strategy for the annual plan

STEAM Committee

  • Responsible for developing programming and generating resources to support the following science, technology, engineering, arts, and math goals.
     1.   Increase the percentage of students successful at
           each level (K-12, including career and technical) to
           ensure our student population is:
                                                            
          o Capable of conducting real-world STEAM projects
            and inquiry;
          o Capable of authentic and collaborative problem
            solving;
          o Proficient in applying multidisciplinary knowledge and
            skills through STEAM;
          o Proficient in English and other languages in order to
            succeed on a global scale; and
          o Knowledgeable about and interested in STEAM
            careers
 
     2.     Increase the quality and quantity of STEAM
            educators
 
     3.     Create a district-wide sustainable STEAM leadership
            committee to align existing and emerging STEAM
            initiatives and represent Martin County as one voice
            in meeting STEAM demands
                         

An Evening of Excellence | Bids for Kids Committee

  • Responsible for annual 'Bids for Kids' event including, but not limited to the following: date, theme, venue, menu, invitations, sponsors, ticket reservations, seating, entertainment, auction, media, marketing and advertising, event insurance, correspondence, event program, thank you letters, and meeting fundraising goal while staying within budget

Teacher of the Year Committee

  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of the Martin County Teacher of the Year program. 
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:  Celebration and Orientation event details - date, venue, menu, floor plan, invitations, event program, securing sponsors, slide show/video, meeting sponsorship goal and staying within budget; and Selection Process

Grant Review Committee

  • Develops (as directed by board), implements, supports, and promotes grants for students and employees in the Martin County School District
  • Reviews incoming grant applications and selects award recipients
  • Provides students and educators an opportunity to receive funds for use in classroom projects through the Foundation's signature Classroom Enrichment Grant program
  • Participates in the EFMC Prize Parade 

Scholarship Committee

  • Develops, implements, supports, and promotes scholarships for students and employees in the Martin County School District
  • Arranges for Foundation scholarship listings in the Scholarship Guide produced by the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties
  • Reviews incoming scholarship applications and selects scholarship winners
  • Notifies winners via letter, awards luncheon, scholarship nights, etc.

Planned Giving Committee

  • Meet the fiduciary responsibility of building the assets of the EFMC over the long term, which will aid in the increasing activity which serves the purposes for which the Foundation was chartered, to provide extraordinary opportunities to the students and educators in Martin County's public schools
  • Develop charitable opportunities including endowments, memorials, bequests, honorariums, charitable trusts, and insurance programs
  • Generate an awareness of the EFMC and the charitable opportunities available to support the Foundation both now and in the future
