| Description | I need to purchase some hotel pans and steam table hotel pans in order to do "ice dying" techniques with students. Many students have done tie-dying before (something I'd also like to cover), but alternative techniques like ice dying, shibori, and batik add different elements, effects, and historical/cultural contexts. I'd also need to get shakers for the powdered dye along with the hotel pans. |
| Benefits | Not only is it a very fun activity for students, and gives them something that they are not only proud of, but something that they can wear as practical art... but it is also a very cool teaching opportunity to talk about chemistry as it applies to several industries in the art world. |
