Description

My students love the characters Piggy and Elephant that the author Mo Willems has created. Every year in my Kindergarten classroom, I share these books with my students. The children instantly develop a love for Piggy and her friend Gerald, the elephant. The students want to read these books during their independent reading time. I would like to have the complete series so my students can enjoy all the books. I would even love for my students to have time to practice reading and rereading these books and have the chance to read them aloud to their classmates.
Benefits

Having the chance to read interesting and familiar books develops a love for reading. It gives students the chance to practice important reading skills like decoding and reading with fluency. Children become Avid readers because they get to read books that they like and can make connections to.
