| Goal | The goal is to provide multiple copies of favorite series books for Warfield Elementary School’s Serious about Series reading program. At Warfield we strive to get students hooked on reading by providing them with a variety of series books. Our goal of this project is to provide our students with multiple copies of some of our highest interest series books. |
| Description | When a child finds a book they love, they will continue reading if they find another book that is similar to the style of writing, humor or information. Warfield has series books all over the campus. Our second graders have been traveling from classroom to classroom trying to read as many series as they can. Students try to read all the books from a series; one that they are really hooked on. Many times, students get hooked on the same series and they have to wait days to read the next book! We would like to help solve that problem by providing additional copies of some of our most popular series. We hope that this will keep students reading and keep their momentum going! |
| Benefits | Series books in the classroom are proven to develop a love of reading. These books have helped our students become fluent and accurate readers. Multiple copies of a book in a series will help students keep their momentum going and allow them to continue binge reading those favorite series! Students will benefit by having access to books on a daily basis that they love and becoming avid readers! |
