Goal | The goal of this project is to ensure that our students continue to read throughout the summer to maintain academic growth and to develop a lifelong love of reading. Through the knowledge they gain from reading a variety of genres, they will continue to thrive and develop a growth mindset as well as to reach proficiency and mastery of new skills and concepts. |
Description | Students were given a choice of a variety of Sunshine State Standards books to read and complete a literacy project on throughout the summer. While this assignment was optional, the lifelong learning and growth benefits are unsurpassable. Many of our students at Stuart Middle School chose to participate in this project. We would like to provide them with an incentive celebration to reward their efforts and diligence. The celebratory event will be literacy based and provide our students with the praise that they deserve. |
Benefits | This celebration of literacy will foster an even greater love of learning and reading, and demonstrate to our students the importance of such fundamental and necessary skills to ensure that they are meeting and surpassing their academic goals in their quest for educational and personal success. It will provide them with a growth mindset and a desire to reach their goals. |
