Goal | The goal is to acquire funding that would allow us to purchase treats and other little gifts for the students and teachers at Anderson Middle School to go along with the notes of encouragement my students will be creating and distributing. We would also like to be able to purchase shirts for the students to wear on Wednesdays while they are off on their kindness missions. |
Description | Every Wednesday, a group of thirteen students meets in my classroom for an Achieve My Success class. This class provides an opportunity for teachers to interact more personally with the students and expose them to topics such as growth mindset, career inventories, learning styles, and much more. My class has been watching some Ted Talks about spreading kindness, as well as performing Random Acts of Kindness. We wanted to make our purpose greater so we decided to launch the AMS Kindness Committee. It is our goal to spread kindness and encouragement around our school by gifting a different class of each grade level with little treats and tokens of encouragement. |
Benefits | The benefits of students on mission to spread kindness cannot be quantified. With the rising rate of bullying and teenage suicide, students must be shown that they have the skills and tools to help their friends and peers who are going through a rough time. |
