Goal | The goal of this project is to introduce the students to the world of robotics and programming. They will gain real world skills through this process that include creative and critical thinking, teamwork, student engagement, and planning. The knowledge and skills gained through robotics will help prepare them for the technology driven future. Theses skills also promote greater self confidence which leads to greater success in education and beyond! |
Description | Students in grades 4 and 5 will have the opportunity to spend 9 weeks in the Science Lab learning about robotics and programming. They will work in teams to construct and program a robot do a variety of different tasks. They will compete against other teams to solve real world problems. They will also have the opportunity to become the school robotics leaders and will work with other grade levels to share their expertise! |
Benefits | The students in this program will gain real life skills that they will be able to carry into the future. Like a foreign language, the earlier they begin learning the programming language the easier it will be. It will develop their critical thinking and teamwork skills, which will benefit them throughout their lives. |
