Goal | My goal is to teach children to love reading while building comprehension and skills. Reading interesting, relevant, and fun articles turn up the reading engagement 100%! |
Description | I am asking for $186.78 to purchase my students a years subscription to Scholastic's Storyworks Jr. Each magazine a student receives has 32 pages of engaging articles, both fiction and nonfiction. The magazines contain different genres such as plays, poems, opinion pieces, skill work such as main idea, fables, folktales, and the list goes on. Students have access to online videos, vocabulary slide shows, and also background building slideshows. Teachers have access to a multitude of skill building activities, close reading questions, quizzes, and much much more. |
Benefits | The benefits I have seen from Storyworks Jr. is a level of reading engagement, curiosity, and eagerness from the students that can be lacking in everyday reading curriculum. Also having access to the different genres at your fingertips is a huge plus! |
