Students will master standard MAFS.7.G.2.6, finding surface area in the real-world.
Description

Students will use a ruler and the surface area formula to calculate the service area of a four-sided birdhouse (and the roof). These calculations will help them determine how much paint will be needed to cover the full bird house.
Benefits

Students will use a hands-on activity to help practice, strengthen and solidify their understanding of surface area and how it can be applied to the real-world.
