Goal | The goal of this project is to enhance student learning in Biology. This will be achieved by creating hands on experiences that student will design and make connections to the topic. This helps students work towards deeper engagement and learning. This will in turn help them retain knowledge for their End of Course Exam. |
Description | To help students gain a better grasp of biological concepts, Ward has designed educational kits that can be used to perform experiments within the Biology Curriculum. These hands on kits demonstrate key concepts such as how different relationships can benefit mankind, or students could use the kits to design their own experiments in areas such as cell diffusion, evolutionary relationships. |
Benefits | Hands-on science encourages the children to DO something – observe, ask questions, touch, smell, experiment. Allowing children to really get into science gives them the chance to make discoveries on their own. They'll be more likely to remember a learning experience if it's just that a real experience. |
