I am writing this in an effort to receive funds to purchase an adjustable stand up desk. The 33" work space is $109.99, and shipping is free

This adjustable stand up desk will allow me to stand when teaching in this dual setting~ in person and remote/online instruction. Because I have online learners in every class period, I am required to be at my computer to assist. Since having to use this model, I have needed the medical attention of a chiropractor. I have also been prescribed blood pressure medication due to the increased stresses in this environment. Research has proven that people who sit have an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, and early death. Research has also proven that standing can lower your blood sugar, reduce your risk of heart disease, and can reduce back pain. In my years of teaching, I sat very infrequently. It was my practice and pleasure to be out among the learners. The worst deficit of needing to be sitting at a computer is I feel I have lost this sense of presence in the classroom. A level of decreased achievement and increased discipline reflects this. I have exhausted my teacher lead monies and have used my own personal funds on mice, including wireless mice, and headphones for the students. It would be a great financial relief to be granted the money for this stand up desk. Thank you for your consideration of my request.
