Goal | Martin County Middle Schools to participate in the Florida History Fair. The History Fair is Sponsored by the Museum of Florida History since 1988, Florida History Day (FHD) it's an annual, statewide activity that enhances the teaching and learning of history. |
Description | Students in grades 6 to 12 use primary and secondary sources to research a topic relating to local, national, or world history. The 2022–2023 theme is Frontiers in History. After analyzing and interpreting the information they have gathered, students express their findings in a paper, exhibit, performance, documentary, or website. Entries are judged in two divisions—Junior (grades 6–8) and Senior (grades 9–12). Winners of school and county contests advance to the state competition, which is held Tallahassee in May. These students have been left behind for 20 years and it is time for them to join in with the rest of the Florida county student and get on the bus to the Florida History Fair. Please help us to get to Tallahassee May 7th – 9th, 2023. |
Benefits | Forty student winners of the Martin County schools will advance to the state competition, which is held in Tallahassee in May. Martin County has not participated in the Florida History Fair since 2002. Somewhere the ball was dropped and its time to get back in the game. First- and second-place state winners in each category and division earn the right to represent Florida at the National History Day contest in College Park, Maryland, in June. Help us by giving us the opportunity to participate in the Florida History Fair in Tallahassee from May 7th - 9th, 2023. |
