Goal | Martin County Middle Schools will participate in the Florida History Fair after 20 years absent. The History Fair is Sponsored by the Museum of Florida History since 1988, Florida History Day (FHD) it's an annual, statewide activity that will run from May 7th -9th, 2023 the History Fair will enhance the teaching and learning of history. |
Description | Students in grades 6 to 8th use primary and secondary sources to research a topic relating to local, national, or world history. The 2022–2023 theme is Frontiers in History. Student will participate from May 7th – May 9th, 2023 and will need a place to sleep while preparing for their big event. Students express their findings in a paper, exhibit, performance, documentary, or website. |
Benefits | Forty student winners of the Martin County District schools will advance to the state competition, which is held in Tallahassee in May. Martin County has not participated in the Florida History Fair since 2002. Somewhere the ball was dropped and it’s time to get back in the game. First- and second-place state winners in each category and division earn the right to represent Florida at the National History Day contest in College Park, Maryland, in June. Help us by giving us the opportunity to participate in the Florida History Fair in Tallahassee from May 7th - 9th, 2023. |
