Goal | The goal of this project is to fully fund $250 cost of our field trip to the Flagler Museum in West Palm Beach. This would allow 50 students to visit the museum for free. This covers the cost of the bus and bus driver. |
Description | The US history teachers at MCHS are taking 50 students to the Flagler Museum in West Palm Beach on October 23rd. We will be given an hour an a half tour of Florida Railroad tycoon's mansion and grounds. We plan on taking a diverse group of students that reflect the demographics of our school. These students will return and be responsible to share their experience with their classmates to further their learning. |
Benefits | 11th grade US history includes standards that address the Gilded Age. Students will experience the Gilded Age brought to life as we tour Henry Flagler's private residence in West Palm Beach. This trip is a perfect complement to our unit on the Gilded Age where we study industrialists such as Carnegie, Rockefeller and Florida's own, Henry Flagler. |
