Teacher of the Year

Description

In an effort to recognize outstanding teaching, the Education Foundation of Martin County proudly hosts the annual Martin County Teacher of the Year program in cooperation with the Martin County School District.

Process

Nominees are selected by their peers from each of the schools throughout the district. These contenders represent the best of the best as they vie for the title of Martin County Teacher of the Year. Each nominee must participate in an introductory orientation, complete a comprehensive portfolio, and take part in an intensive interview process.

The name of the winning teacher is revealed during the Education Foundation of Martin County Teacher of the Year Awards Celebration. This celebration is not like your ordinary awards ceremony. It's a festive party designed to celebrate each of the nominees for their unique contributions to the classroom, their students, and our community. During this special evening, school spirit is in full swing as everyone cheers, dances, and even struts to the beat of specially selected music as each nominee makes his or her way to the stage in anticipation of the winning name being revealed.

Sponsor the Teacher of the Year Awards Celebration.

The district winner then represents the Martin County School District in the competition to become the Florida Department of Education's Teacher of the Year.
