Goal

Students will be able to create sculptures using fired and glazed earthenware clay. Students will experience a three dimensional art medium that they will create projects with a visiting artist.

Description

Indiantown Middle School is in need of a ceramic kiln, which is an oven for earthenware clay. The kiln will be a never ending machine with an endless amount of projects that our students will experience. Currently, our students create wonderful 3D projects using paper mache and clay would broaden their experiences and creative outlet in the art room.

Benefits

Students will discover different forms of culture, learning areas and concepts. They will be able to sculpt their ideas using clay. Pottery class can provide students with multiple benefits. It is the type of experience that leaves a lasting impression on their lives, and it helps their development without sacrificing fun.
