Goal | Our class would love to have a community partnership with someone with gardening experience to help us create a sensory garden filled with plants and flowers that would not only contributes to the students self worth with responsibilities of taking care of living plants but also creates a classroom community because we are building something together. |
Description | Our class would need several things to help bring this project to life. A) raised garden bed B) sensory plants or seeds C) someone with gardening experience that we could reach out to when we notice something “odd” happening with our plants and help problem solving around those “help my plant is dying” moments! D) soil |
Benefits | The entire class would benefit from our community garden because it would be a place, right outside our classroom, where they can go to “take a deep breath to calm down.” The students would feel a sense of self worth by knowing that the health of our garden depends on the care it receives. This would bridge a partnership between parents, students and our community by encouraging and inviting community “gardeners” into our classroom to help! |
