Teacher | Wiggins, Katherine |
School | Jensen Beach Elementary |
Grade | K-5 |
Subject | Low-Performing Students |
Goal | My goal is to create adapted materials for students with physical and cognitive disabilities to allow them to participate to the greatest extent possible. |
Description | Our curriculum is geared toward students with "typical" abilities. Many students on our campus require adapted materials due to their unique abilities. For example, non-verbal students require specialized materials, like picture cards, to communicate. Each student is different and this project would make it easier to provide for their educational needs. |
Benefits | This project will increase student engagement with their learning. It will allow students' needs to be met and encourage independence and increased performance in the classroom. |
