Goal | My goal is for all students in my class to have access to high quality texts for independent reading. This particular book set will be used when I teach the Character Studies Unit in reading. |
Description | This is a library set of 52 books with 13 different titles. These books are at varying reading levels and appropriate for a range of third grade readers. This book set correlates with our Character Studies Reading Unit and texts will be used for students to read independently and practice third grade reading skills. |
Benefits | Students in my classroom will benefit from having quality texts to read independently. After the teacher models a mini-lesson, students go off to read independently to practice the teaching point of the day in their character text. Students will deepen their reading skills around character traits, character analysis, and character change. These texts are highly engaging for students to read. |
