| Goal | To create a dynamic listening center for my literacy intervention time where scholars will use Tonies to hear, retell and read along with books and literature. |
| Description | My intention is to purchase at least 2 Tonies and accompanying stories and accessories for my class listening center. Stories would include familiar characters like Pete the Cat or Mo Willems characters to current literature we are reading (Winnie the Pooh). I would also like to purchase Tonie creatives which allow the teacher to read a story to the scholars. This would enable me to read multiple books that scholars can follow along with. And finally, I would like to purchase science Tonie stories that would give scholars an exciting way to learn about animals, weather, history or environments. **PLEASE NOTE, I am open to purchasing used Tonies from Marketplace as well. ** |
| Benefits | 1) Dynamic. I imagine this would be an incredibly exciting and engaging center with endless possibilities to try new things. 2) Develop and practice skills. By reading along with a book scholars are practicing reading in their own minds and recognizing words. 3) Develop listening skills. Scholars would learn the ability the sit and focus to spoken word. This is the foundation of reading comprehension. 4) Adding more technology but not screens! Scholars will be able to interact with a common technological device, practice independent skills but not be using screens. 5) Big fun. This center will be fun! Scholars will be learning and having a blast while doing it. |
