| Description | The Martin County High School music department serves a diverse and growing student population through its choral and instrumental music programs. These students rehearse and perform regularly in our shared auditorium, a large space where sound can easily become lost or muddled without proper acoustical support. Acoustical shells are designed to reflect sound toward the audience and back to the performers, creating a more unified, resonant sound and allowing musicians to better hear one another. Currently, our department lacks sufficient or functional shells, which limits both the effectiveness of rehearsals and the quality of public performances. With this grant, we seek funding to purchase portable, durable acoustical shells that can be used by all music ensembles during concerts, district assessments, and rehearsals. The shells will be stored on-site and maintained by the music department staff for consistent and long-term use. |
