| Goal | The goal of this project is to allow students to explore the complex structures and functions of organisms firsthand. By examining the anatomy of various specimens, students gain a deeper understanding of biological concepts such as organ systems, tissue organization and can compare their findings to human anatomy. |
| Description | Students would dissect a worm and fetal pig to observe the complexity of the vertebrate organism. A comparative anatomy study will take place over the course of a week as students learn about the organ systems that make up humans. |
| Benefits | By examining the anatomy of various specimens, students gain a deeper understanding of biological concepts such as organ systems, tissue organization and can compare their findings to human anatomy. The hands-on experience fosters critical thinking, observational skills and enables students to connect their knowledge to real life applications. |
