| Description | EAI Education makes hands-on math materials that help students see and work through math problems in a more meaningful way. For this project, we are getting Bar Model Activity sets and more for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and more. Each set comes with hands on tools for the students to manipulate in different ways, helping them see that there is often more than one way to solve a problem. The sets also include helpful teacher tools to support instruction. |
| Benefits | Math That COUNTS! will give my 3rd grade students a hands-on way to better understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, perimeter, and word problems. The bar models will help students see how numbers work together instead of just memorizing steps. These materials can be used during whole-group lessons, small groups, math centers, and in intervention. They will be especially helpful for students who need extra support, including visual learners and English Language Learners. Most importantly, they will help students build confidence and become stronger, more independent problem solvers. |
