Goal

I would like to buy a lightboard and accessories for my students to increase engagement and meet sensory needs.

Description

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn in a way that helps them succeed. My classroom is filled with incredible kindergarten through second-grade students with a wide range of learning needs. Many of my students have disabilities, and most are also English Language Learners. They work hard every day to build foundational skills in reading, writing, math, communication, and social development.

Many of my students also have sensory processing needs. They learn best when lessons include engaging visual and hands-on experiences that help them stay regulated, focused, and ready to learn. A lightboard provides a calming, multisensory learning experience that captures students' attention without overwhelming them. The soft glow, combined with opportunities to touch and manipulate translucent letters, numbers, and shapes, creates an inviting environment where students can explore new concepts through play and active participation.

Beyond academics, this resource will encourage confidence, curiosity, and collaboration. Students who may hesitate to participate during traditional lessons often become eager to engage when learning is interactive and sensory-rich. The lightboard will provide opportunities for every child to experience success at their own level while fostering independence and a love of learning.

Your generosity will provide my students with a tool that supports their academic, language, and sensory needs all at once. Every lesson on the lightboard will help create meaningful learning experiences where every child feels included, engaged, and empowered to shine.

Thank you for helping make our classroom a place where every student can learn, grow, and thrive.

Benefits

The lightboard will transform everyday lessons into interactive experiences that support letter recognition, phonics, number sense, counting, shape identification, vocabulary development, and language acquisition. For students with communication challenges, developmental delays, or emerging English skills, the combination of visual supports and tactile learning helps make abstract concepts more concrete and meaningful.
