| Goal | To provide a class set of The Buffalo Knife by William O. Steele for my seventh-grade reading classes, giving every student access to a shared novel that strengthens reading comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and historical understanding through engaging literature. |
| Description | Many of my reading students benefit from reading high-interest novels together as a class. A class set will allow every student to actively participate in close reading, classroom discussions, vocabulary development, and literacy activities while exploring an exciting historical fiction adventure inline with their US History curriculum. |
| Benefits | Set during America's westward expansion, The Buffalo Knife immerses students in the challenges of frontier life while encouraging them to analyze character development, conflict, setting, theme, and historical context. The books will remain in the classroom, continuing to support students for many years. |
