| Goal | The goal of this project is to bring students together in a safe, supportive environment where they can build positive relationships and develop essential skills for success. Through engaging, hands-on team-building activities, students will strengthen their social skills, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and conflict-resolution skills. The project will provide opportunities for students to practice working together, expressing themselves appropriately, resolving disagreements, and learning how to make positive choices when faced with challenges |
| Description | Funding will be used to purchase safe, engaging backyard games and recreational activities for students to use during Specials. Students will earn opportunities to participate in these activities throughout the week by demonstrating positive behavior, making responsible choices, and working toward their individual goals. These games will provide students with meaningful opportunities to practice teamwork, communication, problem-solving, cooperation, and conflict resolution in a fun and supportive setting. By combining positive behavior incentives with structured group activities, students will have the opportunity to build social skills, strengthen relationships with peers, and experience the benefits of working together toward a common goal. |
| Benefits | This project will provide students with positive, structured opportunities to interact with peers while developing important social and life skills. The backyard games will serve as both a meaningful incentive for positive behavior and a hands-on way for students to practice skills they can use in school, at home, and in the community. The project will help students: Build teamwork skills by working together toward a shared goal. Improve communication by practicing listening, sharing ideas, and expressing themselves appropriately. Develop problem-solving skills through games and activities that require cooperation and decision-making. Practice conflict resolution by learning how to handle disagreements in a safe and supportive environment. Strengthen social skills through positive interactions and shared experiences with peers. Increase positive behavior by providing a motivating and rewarding way for students to recognize the connection between their choices and positive outcomes. Build confidence and self-esteem as students experience success, contribute to a team, and develop new skills. Create a sense of belonging and connection by giving students opportunities to participate, have fun, and build positive relationships. Ultimately, the project will help create a positive environment where students can learn, connect, grow, and practice skills for success beyond the treatment center. |
