| Goal | By securing grant funding, we aim to eliminate/reduce the financial burden on individual families, ensuring that every student can participate regardless of his or her economic background. |
| Description | Crystal Lake Elementary's 3rd grade team requests funding to provide an immersive, hands-on educational field trip to the Kennedy Space Center for 70 students. "The Universe" is a 3rd grade Science unit of study, and this amazing fieldtrip will be one of the most powerful ways to turn abstract concepts about the universe into a lifelong passion for science. Currently, the cost for each student is $135 - an estimated total cost of $10,000. The cost of transportation (required charter buses) represents our single largest expense. If you are looking for a 2026 charitable contribution or gift, please consider donating to our Kennedy Space Center field trip. |
| Benefits | Third grade is a critical developmental window where students transition from concrete thinking to understanding bigger, more complex systems—like galaxies, gravity, and orbits. This fieldtrip aims to bring classroom science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts to life. |
